Production process of activated carbon equipment

Activated carbon is an adsorbent commonly used in water treatment, air purification, medicine, chemical industry and other fields. Its production process mainly includes the following steps:

1. Raw material preparation: Raw materials are usually substances with high carbon content, such as wood, coconut shells, coal, etc. These raw materials are crushed and ground to make their particles uniform in size, which facilitates subsequent processing.

2. Carbonization: The raw materials are carbonized to convert them into substances containing high carbon content. Carbonization is usually carried out at high temperatures, and methods such as carbonization and pyrolysis can be used to convert organic matter in the raw materials into carbon, thereby improving its adsorption capacity.

3. Activation: The carbonized material needs to be activated to increase its pore structure and surface area and improve its adsorption capacity. Activation is usually divided into two methods: chemical activation and physical activation.

4. Chemical activation: Usually the carbonized material is heated together with a chemical activator (such as an alkaline compound) to cause a chemical reaction to generate more microporous and mesoporous structures.

5. Physical activation: Usually, physical activators such as water vapor or carbon dioxide are used to heat the carbonized material at high temperatures to cause physical changes and generate more pore structures.

6. Washing: The activated activated carbon needs to be washed to remove activator residue and other impurities so that it can reach a certain purity standard.

7. Drying: The washed activated carbon needs to be dried to remove moisture and improve its stability and service life.

8. Screening and packaging: Finally, activated carbon is usually screened to separate products of different particle sizes and packaged for easy storage and transportation.
